Diagnostic Service
Today, most cars are controlled by computers. The fuel injectors, the spark plugs, the steering system and more are all told when to fire and when to move by an on-board computer system. If something’s going wrong with your car or engine, your on-board computer can tell you about it. If the computer senses something is wrong with one of your car’s systems, it will turn on a dashboard light, like “ABS Brakes” or something less specific, like “Check Engine.”
It is common for your check engine light to illuminate momentarily when you first start your vehicle. But if the light stays on, your vehicle’s internal computer system is trying to tell you that there is an issue.

The mechanics at Driver’s Edge are here to quickly rotate and balance your tires. Rotating your tires on a regular basis can extend the life of your tire and make your car drive more smoothly.
A tire rotation may be just the thing you need to get your car driving better if you are seeing uneven tire wear or if your tires are vibrating.
Even if you are not experiencing any issues, you could get your tires rotated during your next regularly scheduled maintenance appointment or when you get your oil changed.
If you get new tires, our Tire Installers will conduct a thorough investigation of your driving needs to help guarantee the best possible set of tires for your vehicle. Our team of experts will correctly install your new tires on your vehicle.

Preventative Maintenance
With the hustle-bustle of everyday life these days, the thought of car maintenance has become akin to going to the dentist and often remedied with a quick oil change – if we happen to think about it and have nothing better to do. But effective preventative car maintenance goes well beyond regular oil changes, much less random, infrequent ones.
With automobile prices where they are today, it might be wise to slow down and spend more time taking care of your investment – your car. Preventative maintenance really does extend the life of your car, and rest assured, it can’t all be done in the time it takes to change the oil.

Texas State Inspections
All of the Driver’s Edge locations are Official State Vehicle Inspection Stations, we help keep your vehicle not only legal but safe to drive. Most vehicles are required to receive an annual inspection. All inspections include a comprehensive safety inspection; however, some vehicles are required to have an emissions test in addition to the safety inspection.
The State of Texas Department of Public Safety mandates the exact items required to be inspected and verified during a vehicle inspection and emissions test. They also issue the inspector licensing credentials which Driver’s Edge is proud to maintain. The annual inspection requirement is a bit like a yearly physical with your doctor where a wide variety of major components are tested to make sure they are all in working order.

Wheel Alignment Service
There are many reasons why your wheels may be out of alignment. If you find your car drifting or pulling to one side then your vehicle is likely out of wheel alignment. The pulling to one side is often felt when applying the brakes or you may feel a vibration in the car. A car with bad alignment can quickly wear out tires and cost you money.
If you are noticing the problems outlined above or if you are noticing uneven tire wear. It is also recommended that you have your alignment checked when you have the vehicle services or get an oil change.
A wheel alignment service consists of adjusting the wheels of your vehicle so that all wheels are parallel to each other and perpendicular to the ground.

Oil Change & Lube Service
For most cars and light trucks, Driver’s Edge recommends changing the oil and filter every three months or 3,000 miles (six months or 5,000 miles with full synthetic oil), whichever comes first.
Having your oil changed on a regular basis is one of the most important things you can do to keep your car in proper running order. Literally speaking, there is no better way to keep your car in tiptop performance and have it run for hundreds of thousands of miles than to get an oil and filter change.
